Adam Levine hasn’t been having a good year.
First, there was the controversy over Maroon 5’s tone-deaf album title.
Then, there’s the possible fiasco with the Superbowl.
And now, he’s suffering from a severe case of foot-in-mouth.

According to Too Fab, it all happened Tuesday night during the Top 10 Performance.
Both DeAndre and Reagan on Team Adam were in the bottom three.
And as is customary, the bottom three have to perform to earn the Instant Save.
But there was drama behind the scenes.
Team Adam members DeAndre Nico and Reagan Strange, and Team Blake member Dave Fenley had to battle it out to see who would be eliminated.
That’s when Carson gave the news: Reagan was under the weather, and would not be performing, as is customary.
Unfortunately, that didn’t put her in the clear.
She was still on the chopping block, even though she wouldn’t be performing.
So both Dave and DeAndre did their best.
They sang their hearts out.
Now it was up to the Judges (and ultimately the audience) to choose who to save.
Blake easily made his case for Dave.
But Adam took a different route:
“There is an unbelievably talented little girl right now who is not able to fight for her position on this show… I have two little girls at home. The thought of breaking [Reagan’s] heart by not urging everyone to give this girl a shot to redeem herself next week would be too far beneath me.”
Effectively throwing poor DeAndre under the bus.
He then decided to dig his own grave by continuing:
“I’ve got tonight for my girl. I have to fight for her properly, because she didn’t have a voice to fight tonight. That’s all I can say. It’s weird.”
Even Kelly noticed something was wrong.
She immediately jumped in and defended DeAndre.
“DeAndre, you just sang the hell out of that song.”
Even worse, Reagan pulled through, earning the Instant Save.
And leaving DeAndre behind in the dust.
Even without Adam’s help, DeAndre is still an incredible singer.
He did not deserve to be so callously thrown to the side.
