Ghirardelli fined nearly $1 million for being “misleading”

Ghirardelli is a Bay Area treat.

If you’re going to act like a tourist in San Francisco, you could do a lot worse than stopping by the iconic candy store.

But a new lawsuit may change that.

Well, kind of.

According to the Sacramento Bee, the candy maker has been found to be “misleading” customers.

Specifically, when it comes to how full their candy containers are.

The lawsuit alleges that Ghirardelli’s chocolate containers are “predominantly empty”

With most of the container housing air, and not candy.

While Ghirardelli didn’t agree with the ruling, they still settled.

And as part of that settlement, they’ll change their packaging to clearly display how much chocolate you get.

It’s no secret that a lot of companies do similar practices
